    Default Mickey Gray

Just watched the Charlton POF for the 1st time and MG stood out as playing well (pen apart). I'd forgotten how good he could be - probably taken in by the morons on here who have a go at him for liking a drink (oh, the irony...) and being blonde!

Decent player but I always felt he should have given his England caps to Allan Johnston cos I think Magic made him look a better player than he was. I never understood those who thought he was better than Graeme Le Saux.

Always said that one of my most embarrassing moments as a Sunlun fan was the abuse he got for a bad back-pass v Bolton at home 2003.

The lad fucked up but he's Sunderland through n through and the booing must have hurt, after all effort and commitment he gave us.

    Top player, imo.

Uses to regularly see him at youth matches when he was an established pro (albeit with his blue topless BMW) - good to seem support given to the young uns.

He didn't play with Johnston in the Premier but was still excellent first 2 years without him. eg that cross to Niall at St James. A joy to watch down the wing for years & I'd definately say he was better than Le Saux much more energy & beat his man with much more ease with the Micky shuffle!

Yeah just not down the same wing! He is good crack on twitter as mentioned and still loves Sunderland. Wants to get into management and is considering taking his coaching badges.

Met him at the cricket years ago, didn't much care for him. Canny player on his day though.
