    Default Lagavulin.

Tried this Islay whisky for the first time tonight and loved it. £40 and above seems to be about as cheap as it comes for the standard 16 year old bottle. I can't really afford to be shelling that much out at the moment, even as a one off. Anyone know of anywhere I can get it cheaper/any offers?

Dearest on the market but the best IMHO. Love the stuff! If you can't afford it try Talisker. Not cheap either but very very nice.

I can get Lagavulin for €40 but shipping costs would cancel out the exchange rate advantage I guess.

I've had Talisker a few times and I'm not a massive fan.

The Lagavulin just blew me away though. Never had a whisky quite like it.

It's shite being a student and not being able to afford these things!

Try some Caol Ila 12. If you can't afford that - Bowmore.

It's drinkable but hmm. Better off with asda's own malt selection for a quid more.

Is that the classic or the 12 year old? Both pretty well priced on their own website.

Ardbegh and Bunnahabain (sp?) were battling it out for my favourite previously but I think it definitely takes top spot.

I'm definitely a fan of the Islays!

Like football, it's all about opinions. For me, there's no contest, but each to his own.
