    Default Final Tally!

I fully expect this post to be merged, so make the most of it...

    But...

Am I the only person who doesn't care if Gyan only scores 5-10 goals a season as long as he contributes enough lay offs and hold up plays to enable Bent to get 25 again?

And hopefully allow another 10 goals to be gained from midfield...

He's not gonna get 25 goals a season - and if he did, you will see Bent's tally significantly drop.

I fully expect to be having the 'Heskey' chat with various people - explaining that although he cost £13m he's there to bring people into play more than score...I'd be happy to have a player with 15 - 20 assists and 5 goals to their name.

Please don't misunderstand me, I think it's a positive signing and can't wait for Saturday but I think he's gonna be used to create rather then bang them in (afterall, we have somebody more than capable of doing that!)

    KTF!

So you'd be happy with a good midfielder?

Expensive strikers are brought in to score goals unless they are massive 10 footers.

    I'd be happy with 10.

10 goals and 10 assists will sound about right.

Most teams don't have midfielders who bang them in for fun - with the obvious Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal exceptions - those players are rare.

I just don't see the Bent and Gyan partnership being worth 50 goals a season between them, not even 40...perhaps 30.

But I do see an increase in our overall goals from the work that I believe Gyan will provide - a lot of holding the ball, in good areas with his back to goal - inviting our midfield to take a shot.

I think he'll get 10 goals max and be crucified by those up the road...but I think he'll get double that in assists.

That's not how this board is meant to work though, is it?

Most teams have a midfielder who will provide 5 goals and 10 assists though.

A good expensive striker should score 10 goals a season. It's quite simple.

I think he'll bring the midfield into it more, and get 5-10...

    Just my opinion like...

having a proper partnership that gelled and worked as a pair getting 30 - 40 goals a season would be fantastic

    I think low 30s...

But, more goals that last season contributed from the team

And hopefully less conceded at the back...

That would make Mr Griffin's tail wag.

I can see him making openings for the midfield and would like to think Riveros might benefit..... contrary to what my Mag mate tells me....he will be injured just like Mensah and out longer than he is in.
I think we will get 110% from this lad, he will chase lost causes and hopefully cause mayhem to defences.
We haven't bought him to score loads of goals so let's all remember that and give him time to settle down and get used to our league.
If he gets 10 we will be laughing.
