    Default trapped nerve/prolapsed disc

The doctor thinks i've got a prolapsed disc that is trapping or aggravating a nerve.

The pain starts at the top of my arse and goes the back of my left leg. Fairly fucking intense pain as well.

Anway, i've got to go to the musculoskeletal place thsi week so hopw to find out what's actually wrong.

Any of the SMB had this sort of thing before? Did they sort you out? Has it gone away?

I'm hoping for some positive feedback here as this is doing my fucking head in.

Medication is not really cutting the mustard either.

I've just finished a bout of visits to the chiropractor. Not really sure exactly what I have done but it started like the pain you get with a cricked neck.

Disabled me for a while so I know what you are going through.

You are definitely in the right hands to get some treatment. My doctor simply said get some rest and take some anti-inflammatory tablets.

    Hope it goes well.

Keep shouting until you get an MRI scan.

Ignore anyone who tells you otherwise.

    Mine was neck/cervical, not lumbar.

    Worst luck.

Yep, not wanting to put the shitters up you, but had what you're describing start in Feb last year. Pain moved randomly up and down my leg but never in the back - outside of my ankle and knee, felt like I'd torn me hammy and then went on to electric shocks that would go from my backside to my toes.

Tried allsorts, new mattress, two chiropractors, physio and then the pins and needles and numbness started everytime I went for a pee and when I was walking (by walking I mean no more than 50 yards by the way). At this point was taking more than 40 tablets a day and a bottle of morphine on a night to bed.

Had mri's etc and turned out I'd herniated at L5-S1 and had some damage above as well, one day went for a consultants appt at south tyneside and he rang Sunderland to be admitted straight away. Had surgery in September to remove the disc and bone but no metalwork put in and have to say at the minute its looking good. Pins and needles went straight away as I woke up which is the important thing as far as long term nerve damage goes, but I still get aches at times. Now waiting for an epidural to let me get back in the gym and get some serious work done to strengthen the area and hope that'll be the end of that.

Probably an extreme case, but would def suggest as above, get an mri done asap and dont take no for an answer - physio actually did me more harm than good.

What meds you on by the way?

Had a disc removed 10 years past, forget physio and all, the only way to find out what the problem is , is to have a MRI scan.
