    Default Punishment for Burglary

Last christmas when we were getting mugged off Blackpool my house got broken into. The toe rag who did it emptied every draw, every cupboard and generally trashed the place. Took off with some bits and bobs but the mess was far worse than the loss of possessions.

Letter this morning from the Witness Support Unit advising me that he has been sentenced to 17 weeks suspended for 12 months. He also has to do 150 hours community service and pay £85 in costs.

I know nowt about sentencing but I assume that ours was one of many that he owned up to. I am quite shocked at the leniency of the sentence.

I know exactly how you feel mate. I got burgled while on holiday in the summer. Fortunately the fucking scum bag got four years. He's a career criminal who's been caught a couple of times before.
Police gave us his name so hell get a visit in time. I've also got the name of another fucking scum bag who was with him and never got caught. They both ganna get it in time

    Total discrace
The scummy barstd should be locked up for years with winston as his cell mate to teach the cnut a propper lesson.
Our justice system is proppa shite like, these twats will never stop doing it as the punishment is nowt.
The coppers.and magistrates are more bothered about making an example of the normal decent working man who on the odd occasion gets a bit shit faced and ends up in a little scuffel in a pizza shop!
    WTF!

The kids still ask about it a year later and would not come into the house at all for a week after.

Problem is I'd end up in more trouble than them. Probably best to never find out sometimes. But I wouldn't mind taking the chance.

Should be a guaranteed prison sentance and even after that a set amount of community service.

Five years for first offence. Ten years for second offence. Life for third offence.
20 years for first offence if carrying a weapon.
Birch the bastards while we're on.

Burglary should be treated far more seriously than it is, it can destroy lives and turn people into nervous wrecks.
