Default Closed Doors tomorrow at the Ryder Cup

Seems a bit of a missed opportunity there.

And a loss of home advantage for Europe.

so they were saying on 5 Live. It'll be bizarre, and has got to play in the hands of the Yanks, you'd have thought.

What possible reason can there be to play it behind closed doors so to speak? I'm guessing they'll be saying something along the lines of logistical nightmare. It doesn't need to be (if that's the reason) they could simply charge £20.00 on the door - first come first served - find something to like about it - we can't control the weather

did I not hear that todays tickets are also valid for tomorrow ?
You would have thought it's an opportunity to get extra support( and cash) by letting the remaining tickets go cheap

I only caught the tail end of it on 5 Live, but I thought that's what they said. Mebbes it was folks texting in complaining that they couldn't buy tickets on the day.

As has been said people with tickets today will get in, they're only expecting half the crowd at most to turn up though, and you're not even allowed to pass your ticket onto someone else if you're at work due to them having photos on.

Guy on 5 live came across as a right tit.

People on 5 live were saying it should've been like Wimbledon when the final overran til the Monday or the rerun Grand National where tickets were available for the general public to come in and make it a good atmosphere but the bloke said no basically.

Why don't they make this a four day competition starting on Thursday like they do on all tour/major events? That way it starts on Thursday & finishes on Sunday & if they have a problem with the weather (which is likely in October in Britain) they have got room to compress it & finish it by Sunday. Finishing the Ryder Cup on an October Monday is just the most depressing state of affairs imo
