Default Muntari not bothered about goal

    Quote:
Sulley Muntari wasn't sure how his winning goal against Bolton managed to creep in.
The midfielder poked home an injury-time winner at the Reebok Stadium, with the goal variously credited to the Ghanaian international and as an own goal by defender Zat Knight.
Latching onto a through ball from Stephane Sessegnon, Muntari beat Jussi Jaaskelainen with an angled shot and the covering Knight succeeded only in helping the ball into his own net.
Amongst the post-match confusion Muntari claimed he's not too bothered either way regarding the goal, preferring instead to focus on the team achieving a fourth away win of the season.
"The most important thing is we won the game, not that I scored," said the midfielder, who came on as an 82nd-minute substitute.
"What matters is that the guys, the manager and the fans are all happy.
"The fans do not deserve anything but happiness and I am so pleased that we managed to get a result for them."
He added: "The guys did a fantastic job.
"The manager made us understand that Bolton are a very difficult team to beat at home and we are very happy that we managed to do so.
Anyone else think he's one of those confidence players. Crawls into a shell when things aren't going well but when things are alright, you'll see the best of him. I wouldn't mind seeing him on a season long loan for next year.

Standard footballer reply. Goal wasn't for me, it was for the team and fans. Meanwhile, he's out spending his goal bonus.

Just alluding to the clichéd bullshit footballers spout. They're greedy, selfish fuckers. Of course the most important thing about the goal was that he scored it.

    Carry on...

He's a decent player who has been unfairly maligned, IMHO. Not sure he is worth 8 mill but has come into a struggling team with next to no strikers.
