first one no, second one yes. I would expect that second one to go for £150-£190.

Yup, some of the prices on ebay for photography stuff is frankly ludicrous. I have seen used stuff go for more than you find it for new, I guess a lot of people can't or don't want to look around the internet for the best deals.

Last 2 lenses I bought were actually cheaper brand new than anything I could find on ebay. Fair enough, one was bought with a risk from Hong Kong (onestop-digital) but the other was UK sourced and not a grey import.

People pay silly prices on eBay.

same here Roger, paid £93 delivered for my sony 5omm lens ( from seller UNIONECOM in hong kong ), the cheapest i could find in the uk was around £125 iirc...just need be a bit patient with the extra week or so for delivery.

@HH, infact this seller has the nikon 1.4 lens in stock too

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/N145-Sale-Niko...#ht_2383wt_991

    and the nikon 50mm f1.8

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nikon-50mm-f1-...ht_1900wt_1063

the f1.8 is only £75 delivered mate, well worth it and cant see there being a huge difference between the f1,8 and the f1.4, apart from the obvious price though, lol.

Was going to ask about that, what benefits will the 1.4 have if any ?

It's slightly faster, in that it would perform better in low light.

It'd make little difference tbh unless you're a pro. The 1.8 is a genuine bargain, and you may as well get one new - I've yet to see a bargain used lens on eBay. And I've looked obsessively for about 2 years

Camera bodies are a different matter - bought both my cameras from the 'bay.
