One of me mates has it on his bairn's Xbox, apparently it's old and flashed anyway. Worth paying for a fix? Or just buy a new arcade and swap the hard drives over?

He's happy to pay up for a new un if necessary as they use it a lot.

I've forwarded him the deatils of the pre-flashed ones Giddup Sausage was on about last week, just wondered if it's worth repairing or if they just keep going once you get it once.......

I think unless its done properly by MS (board change etc) anything else is just a temporary fix so hes probably better off getting a new one

Aye, given the price of arcades now it seems a bit daft paying £40 or so for a fix that may or may not last a few months.

He’s just a bit annoyed all the arcades seem to come in bundles, so he’s stumping up for a game or games he doesn’t want as he’s just intending to get it flashed straight away.

He'd rather buy it from a shop than pre-flashed online apparently.

    Crazy.

For just the 360, pre flashed, that guy online does them for £110. They are the jaspers as well so they apparently wont overheat as they have the new cores.

Dont see the point of paying extra and having extra powerpacks etc.. Unless the joypads could be used (still he does the full bundle cheap on the net).

An extra thing to think about is the guy on the net does FREE upgrades of the flashing service if you get it done with him once. All you pay is the postage. Better than paying £25+ everytime Micro$oft decided to add new security which needs new mods.

The jasper 360s will require a jasper power pack IIRC. It draws a fair bit less power than the original.

    Old ones work fine

If the PSU is higher its fine, it doesnt work if its lower tho.

Jaspers are 12.1A and the old ones are 14.2A, so they work no bother.

I got a new (well, refurbished but its under the 3 year MS warranty, 1 year Gamestation warranty and if I want, a 2 year Allianz insurance thing apparently) 360 for £110 - came with a new wireless controller, headset, component cables and 2 games (gta4 and mirrors edge) from Gamestation. BenQ drive as well so was easy to sort out. Jasper board too, HDMI socket etc. Canny deal imo.

Do they fit? They have (or had) different clip patterns which prevent them from fitting in certain consoles, I remember my brother had to get a replacement power pack for his. Not sure if it was because he was trying the 175w powerpack rather than the 203w one though.

Ive had 2 new ones using 2 old powerpacks. Both fit no problems and as long as the powerpack has enough, or more, power then its fine.

Maybe he had the lower end powerpack which wouldnt work on a board needing more power?
