If not does he go to the games anymore, it's strange not to hear from him at all especially as we are really struggling.

It's basically a token job that pacified the fans more than if he said he was leaving. And anyway he has been dveting far more of his time to other business interests recently.

He might be wheeled out in the Echo if things go on as they have been, I suppose.

Like a previous poster mentioned, the 'New role' was obviously just a way to say he's still here but he's gone. I doubt very much whether he has very much to do at the club anymore, new role or not.

However, he has previously stated a desire to spend time with family and who can begrudge the man that eh? Good luck to him I'd say :)

He has been in Sunderland loads in the last 3/4 weeks.

I took the original post as being in a 'Visual', giving soundbites role - something we all know he's liable to do at the drop of a hat normally.
