Indoor or outdoor? Used to play on the indoor wooden ones at Eldon Square and the best sort of things to use on knees and elbows were skateboarders pads. Even ended up having to use a cricket thighpad to help with a chipped bone on my hip.

If it's outdoors stop being a faggot. Scars are a sign of a man.

its the outdoor games that are ruining it
    its on old style astroturf
the short carpet with sand on kinda astro turf
play on that every wednesday which takes a nice chunk off my knee, which heals over nicely enough to rip off on the better turf ( soccarena ) on a monday
which is what happenned last night
ive found some proper kneepads for under a tenner online which look ok so im gonna try them i think

Where are these pads? I have the same problem. Was going to pick up some Adidas ones in Japan but they were £20+ a pad!
