    Default 1973 song help

    Watched something a while ago (could have been 'Meanwhile back in Sunderland') and there was a song being sung by some fellas in a boozer. It was a version of 'Part of the union' by the Strawbs (released in 1973). My question is was it a song just made up by these fellas or a proper Sunderland song. Words I remember are 'Leeds Stink' & something along the lines of 'You won't get bitter barred at the Roker' - possibly a pisstake at Leeds as IMSC they were the first club to ban booze at the ground.

    Anyone?

    Only one I can remember at the time (sung by Bobby Knoxall iirc) went something like;
    "Sunderland'll be in the First Division, scoring goals in every game they play,
    Sunderland'll be in the First Division, It'll be Red and White all the way"

    Perhaps the clever clogs had thought to change the words to fit the opposition [so as not to appear to be obsessed with them up the road?].
