    Default Running Trainers

Now I am getting in to this running malarky I want to get some decent trainers.

Seems a good pair are essential when going further distances to avoid injury and for maximum comfort.

I am looking at NIKE FREE RUN+ 3 (looks like they have a nice thick sole)

However, I have seen some New Balance Minimus 10 Trail, which are classed as minimal running shoes (thin sole)?

What is best? Thick or thin?

The normal response on here is to go to a proper running shop and the staff will work out which shoe's best for you

really depends on your running style and gate. minimal shoes are great but in general terms they are best for forefoot / midfoot strikers who have a high cadence / soft feet type style. i would have nee heals left after about 100yds if i tried them.

Start fitness (durham / newcastle) or sweatshop (metro centre) are your best bet locally mate. Get some gate analysis done and see how you go from there - it costs nowt and only takes 10 mins - you should always try them on and run in them before you buy so these are your best bet..

Thanks lads will try and find somewhere. I'm down in London so will have to find some place that does it. Will definitely try them before I spend a bit of cash on some then. Was just gonna buy online as usual.

Want these to be right as keen to avoid injury when start longer distances.
