    Default stocks and shares

As rates are low for savings I decided 3 weeks ago to invest in stocks and shares.
I bought shares in BP as they are a safe bet, and Lloyds bank as they could only go up.

    I am a fucking idiot

You're the cash cow the big boys make money out of.

Hold on to both long enough though and you'll be fine.

I've always fancied doing this but have no real knowledge at all of how to do it. Anyone got any pointers?

Based on that - don't do it. Most professional traders struggle to make profits. Only a handful make big money.

Better off picking a horse tbf.

I'm not looking for big money (although it would be nice), just some sort of profit with minimum risk.

only do it if you have no need of access to the money for many years to come. After about ten years I'm just about back to where I started(sorry kids you'll just have to work like I did)
