    Default WiFi on iPhone?
    Do you get access to some sort of wifi network with an iphone, over and above the phone just having wifi capabilities?

    If so how does this work, how good is the coverage and is it network dependant?

    I always exceed my 500mb data allowance so this could be a big selling point over the Desire, which would otherwise be my choice...

    not on T-Mobile you dont, just wifi capable and 3G...although I have unlimited

    think it depends on your network provider, I know I can get access to certain wi-fi spots in places like Starbucks, I'm on Vodafone with mine

    you can get that with T-MObile, but I read the OP as thinking a bout a seperate "special" wifi cloud for iPhone
