Default Best Sunderland team assembled in my lifetime.....

    potentially and I'm nearly 49.

Some of the football we played today was tremendous and against teams that won't bully us but will let us play, we'll really prosper. Muntari was excellent just sitting in the middle but was always available to pass to, Sessegnon looks a right handful although a little lightweight but once he adjusts to the premier has the potential to be a real star.
Although I came away gutted, on reflection I think we're really on the brink of a cracking team and possibly the best in my lifetime. Brucie is really starting to put together a young side full of skill, passion and trying to play football.
We should be getting behind him & the lads rather than bickering but no doubt I'll just be labelled a happy-clapper!
    Tin hat on.

We just need a few nasty bastards in our team, esp at the back.

Some lovely one touch football played today against a very physical team. It was always going to be hard today. Everyone knows what to expect against Stoke but nobody seems to be able to counteract it. Sessignon will prove to be a great signing and Muntari worked his balls off today . I for one am optimistic for a fuckin' change !

I`m younger than you and I would say Reidys team of 2000/01 and Durbans team of the 80s were better

I agree but as long as we do the hard work off the ball etc then win it back and play the football pass and move we will be fine

Rieds at the best and only because this one is at the start of something. Durbans no id have to disagree. IMO this team is going to be very good!

I thank the poster who started this thread yes it will be better when the two missing forwards get fit but I can honestly say I like watching the way Sunderland play and Bruce I think has with experience got the ability to spot a good player not all the buys will come off but I like what he's brought in so far. A Europa League would be nice but not essential and as long as there's no dramatic slump you can see the progression in the team.
