Went to the Newcastle game v Orlando City last night
I know it's only pre season but jesus they were totally dross. 6's and 7's at the back, toothless upfront, and over ran to bits in midfield. Fair play Barton wasn't there who is their best player but if they don't sign any players soon they are going to struggle big style. We better be ready to turn them over this time !!
Also there was a lad their in his Sunderland top. Legend!

Pre-season games mean absolutely fuck all. If you can get through it without important players getting seriously injured it's a success.
Newcastle will be ready to go on derby day as they always are. The pressure will be on our lads to show up after last years debacle.
They won't be anywhere near going down either as some people are suggesting on here, they'll be battling with us for a top 10 spot again this season regardless of who they've bought/sold blah, blah, blah.

A good post. I wouldn't be putting my mortgage on a derby win for us or us finishing above them.

That's one of the daftest comments I've ever seen on here.
The last time they sold their better players they were relegated weren't they
Last season, they lost some soft games, at home, to the likes of Blackpool, who went down, yet people, on here, claim they were hard as nails ............. the games they won were generally with Nolan and Barton firing 'half the length of the pitch balls' into Carroll.
2 out of 3, of those players, aren't there and it may well become 3 out 3.
Making Coco captain is a shocking move and they'll be fighting relegation.

People are always mentioning our poor run at the end of the season and how we could learn a thing a two from the mags, yet from the 1-1 draw at our place and to the end of the season they won 3 out of 17 games, two vs Brum and one against Wolves.
Yet they've lost Nolan and Carroll, look like losing Enrique and maybe Barton, there is unrest in the camp but sonehow they still get overrated.

If Sunderland were performing like Newcastle, in this transfer window, there'd be people saying we're nailed on for relegation ........... yet, because it's Newcastle, they're claiming they'll be top ten.
Hiw do people's minds work

I do think the mags will struggle. The loss of Nolan cannot be underestimated however I think they'll be up for th derby game, that will be a very hard game, just depends on which side copes with the pressure of it.
