I assume we are. 6th is looking the highest we can finish now and now is a good time with alot of teams having poor seasons.

Think you're right, mate. I've been expecting Liverpool and Everton to put a run together and it's now 2011 and we're still above them, so there's definitely an opportunity there that might not be around next season. It's as good a time as ever as far as I'm concerned.

Someone was saying the Blackpool game may prove costly at the end of the season. I don't think so, someone has to beat us at home and the points gained from home matches this season is good enough. What will cost us though if we don't turn it round, is our inability to win at least one match from Fulham, Newcastle, Wigan, West Brom, Wolves away. We need to improve away from home, and if we can do that then that 6th place is there for the taking.

Were only 11 points off top. Why not aim for that?

It certainly beats safety on the last day thanks to the ineptitude of others

We simply arent as good squad wise and cant compete financially with spurs, citeh, chelsea, arsenal and manure. For the foreseeable future 6th is as good as it gets

Erm, why not aim for 1st and 'settle' for 6th?

We could get 6th, though I think Liverpool may mount a challenge in the 2nd half of the season.

I have to admit that some of my hostility towards Bruce is fading. I don't like the style of play, but we're about as high as we can be, and he's getting results.

Looking around the table, there isn't much between us and those involved in the relegation scrap, but nevertheless we are above them

    Good thinking actually.

I was hoping for a dip in form til April then maybe winning our last 3 games to survive the drop on goal difference thus ensuring a thrilling end to the season.
