We Three Kings of ORIENT are........ chinese?

Just occurred to me last night, that the words of this song clearly tell you that the 3 wise men / 3 kings were Chinese.


So why did we wrap towels round our heads in the nativity plays at school when we were bairns?


(unless they were supposed to be hot towels?)
