I have been many times and it isn't as cheap now as it used to be but I'm used to London prices.

Looks like a lot of people on here haven't managed to get much further then the red light district. Try and you will know better.

Well, when l stayed in Rome I stayed in the Cavalieri and had a chauffeur and last time I was in Amsterdam I stayed at the Citizen and walked, time before in Amsterdam I went with the girls all in one room and spent less on the trip than I have for a meal in London.

So yes I'd say it was relatively cheap.

Jesus wept. So you had a chauffeur in italy and had to walk in amsterdam. No the wonder you think its cheap you loon.

As a city its expensive. As i said a friend of mine lived there. Even the locals complain about the cost of living there. Parking a car in amsterdam is ridiculous. The costs are frightening.

I also don't go to touristy places to eat and drink. I went to a gig at the Melkweg which was much cheaper than London. I did the red light district and sex museum on my first visit, Anne Frank the second, after that the Euro came and it was more expensive, subsequent trips have been for gigs etc, last visit didn't even get stoned.
