Anyone got any good cycle routes (road) in and around Durham? I need some practice as i'm planning to do the c2c in a day for charity in June.

    Cheers in advance.

I've got an idea for a cracking route round northumberland but I could do with a hand getting it off the ground to be honest.

I managed to make a 100km one and I think a 100mile if my memory serves.

Anyone who has the time to take a look at my idea I'd be very grateful.
I'm not a novice to this organising lark as every year we (the charity I work for) have -

    PEAK 100 - www.peak100.co.uk
    and
    The Macc Monster - www.maccmonster.co.uk

loads of options, do most of my riding around that way,

Head from Sunderland, 167 to Sniperly P&R..along to Lanchester,up Maiden Law bank( nice and tough) join A693 towards Consett, Delves lane back into Lanchester.Back through Durham and to Sunderland along 690 and up Houghton cut..

About 52 miles from home and back.

Lots of options around bearpark/meadowfield/Langley Pk/Crook way and plenty of climbing etc

Head into Weardale and you can't go wrong. Hamsterley and around that way is smashing.
