Gyan V Defoe

Im not saying were going to get Defoe or whatever but after reading a few of these threads it seems like people are saying how Gyan is a million times better than Defoe and how if Andy carroll was sold for 35million then we should get at least that for Gyan and pay 8 million for Defoe.

So i got on the ol' wikepedia and had a look at goals - games ratio.

Gyan - 234 games for club and country with 86 goals
Defoe - 427 games for club and country with 152 goals

most of Defoe's goals have been in the premiership aswell.

Now im not carol vorderman (pics available on google) but id say Defoe's goal scoring record is better than Gyans (at the min) so how can we say gyan would be worth so much more than defoe (apart from the age)

Because Gyan contributes to the team more, assists etc.

from the stats you posted there it seems gyans record is slightly better - however your question is still valid, i don't see that gyan is £25m better than defoe, but i doubt anyone would the carroll deal was just daft

Gyan is the superior footballer. Always liked Defoe, but Gyan has it all and got age on his side too. Gyan<->Defoe and at least £18m, then I'd listen.

Gyan is different class to Defoe. Losing Gyan would take all the shine of the signings for me.

gyan is much better than defoe, defoe is massively over rated and is getting on. Didn't he score 3 last season
