Default Bit Of Info From The Weekend Re:complaints about stewarding

Mate of mine was hoyed out for taking a beer to his seat, nee complaints at all knew it was against rules ans accepted it.

Was arrested and cautioned and had said the coppers were spot on with him however he did ask why he could not just have had the beer taken off him and thought it was a bit of an overreaction to have to get arrested etc.

They said that a few year back they would have and as the club has a zero tolerance attitude then they have to act in this way.

They also said that they do Newcastle games and rules are a lot more relaxed up there.

Makes you wonder who briefs these bluecoats etc mind.

Good on them. It'll discourage others from trying it on.

    this

apart from the crackers who sit up on level 7 next to the away fans i cant say ive ever noticed a steward do anything other than point people to seats etc, yet every week there are people on here moaning about stewards on here

incidentally my father in law is a steward on the the premier concourse and he had to chuck out 2 lads on satda, the first this season as they kept standing up and shouting swearing etc, this is in earshot of the directors box according to him, he wanred them 3 times then they had to be hoyed out.

as for drinking in the stand, last home there was a celtic & a rangers fan sitting just over from me, they both had a pint hidden under their coats and they took crafty drinks form them all the 2nd half*

    * which is a bit gay one pint in 45 mins imo

The point will likely get lost on here of why I posted it but after the weekend and what I heard it is the club that needs to speak to it's fans and make a better job on their instructions to the Stewards and Police, as I say the lad had no complaints about getting the elbow but when I think back to some of the arrests I have seen I wonder if they could have been handled better.

NUFC stewards are definitely more laid back, by some way, got loads of mag mates and all say they never see stewards intervening in anything

Spug, there are signs all over the ground saying it's nat allowed. The public annoncer tells you as well.
Your mate can't be surprised or complain when he does it and gets caught.
