Out for four and a half hours!
Could have stopped out longer like but thought I better head home.
    Freezing anarl.
Heres a few of my efforts:

Quite a few of my shots were ruined by glare, is this because I am using the Lens with nowt on it ?

I was going to post asking if you'd been out.

Post an example and it should be pretty easy to tell you what went wrong.

i dont think thats ruined at all, i like the effect from the street lamp's, you get that effect usually from shooting on low aperture's, what was the aperture?

    Exposure: 30
    Aperture: f/14.0

Would a longer exposure using the bulb setting bring more light into a shot like this :

Kinda dark thats all and would have loved to have got more detail.

yeah, a longer exposure would show more detail and maybe a high f.stop around f4 f5ish, to use bulb mode though you need a shutter release cable, they are only a few quid on ebay and the wireless ones arent that much more either, they are pretty much essential to shoot for longer than 30 seconds, if ya dont have one then it means you need to keep your finger on the button, which is pretty hard to do.

I ordered a remote last week and it should be there when I get home hopefully.

Try shooting two shots, one with the largest aperture you can and one with the smallest, then compare the glare.
