    Default lawro and savage's predictions

savage goes for a 2-1 safc win whilst lawro states

People were talking about Sunderland's game against Stoke a fortnight ago as being big for them, but I think this match is absolutely massive for manager Steve Bruce and his team now.

The other night against Norwich Sunderland got on the ball and knocked it around well enough, but they hardly created any clear-cut chance from what I can remember. Norwich, on the other hand, were able to up their game and create chances when they wanted. Sunderland are making far too many individual mistakes.

And so this is a massive game for the Black Cats. If you lose at home to West Brom - a team that are also down there at the moment - then you're facing a backlash from the punters.

Bruce has a really good chairman in Niall Quinn - but still, after signing all those players in the summer, something needs to change and soon because, facing facts, Sunderland just haven't been the same since they sold Darren Bent.

West Brom, on the other hand, are going to be just fine I think.

They may have only got four points on the board so far, but they have had some tough games - against Chelsea and Manchester United, for example - and they have a good manager, a good organiser and are strong defensively.

A tough one to call, this, but I'll go for a draw... which is no good for man nor beast really.

    Prediction: 1-1

I've been having a chat with some West Brom fans on one of their forums. They're not confident at all, most expecting a defeat.

well they won last season and iirc the season before as well (not sure on that one, offhand)

odemwingie has not started as well as last season but him, long and tchoyi, if fit and selected will cause problems to safc.

i feel we will need to score at least twice to guarantee something from the game.

What about our tough games? A derby can go either way (or one way in our case ), away to big spending Liverpool and a game against Chelsea. What a twat. Complete double standards applied here.
