Career went off the boil a bit at Real and AC but think he'd do a decent job here and I reckon he could go on the cheap from Schalke.

Apparently playing well since the start of the season so unlikely to be going anywhere.....least of all a mid table prem club where the glittering alure of the Carling cup has already been wrenched from our grasp

Seems to have started out well for Schalke this season and with people reckoning Raul wants out (although I'm not too sure myself), I'd imagine they'd want to keep hold of him. That and his wage demands would probably blow anything we can offer out of the water.
