I'll probably get hammered for this but here goes
Today we were missing 2 of our starting eleven. We have been looking good(ish) recently and we missed Larsson out wide and Wickham stretching defences.
We have the 5th best defence in the league and the 12 best goalscoring rate. Which does seem like a top 10 set of stats. Perhaps we have been unlucky not to have more points on the board! |

After three starts (the third lasting 3 whole minutes) I'd hardly say Wickham is a mainstay of out first 11. We missed our top scorer today though, our set pieces were shit again.

The fact that Bardsley was on set pieces says all you need to know about the midfield.

Wickham is certainly first 11. Expectations were massive when he was signed Bruce needed to kill that pressure so eased him in. We don't spend that amount of money on a bit part player. Yes he was also bought with the future in mind but is the 2nd best striker at the club.
As I said he helps stretch defences. With him out we needed somebody else to do that, which didn't happen today. I know stats can prove anything but looking at what we have scored and conceded we should be higher up the league. |

We are getting stronger. The points will come. If you listened to SAF the other week. A new squad like Sunderland will take months to start producing strong results.

So its a plus we looked so average while missing only two players, one of which has only really been a first team starter for a few games? fucking hell if thats a plus im dreading when our normal injury list starts adding up and we have three four five out.
