Default AOL v Smoggies at 11.00

    in Hurworth.

Gannin for a look this morn to see for the first time what is coming through from the academy.

Certainly heard a lot about Laing and Knott, so hopefully they will be playing.

Just been told expecting snow so hope the bloody game is on as its a 70 odd mile round trip for me. Anybody know if there is snow around that area yet???

Just got back and thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Yes we have a good player in Billy Knott. Two cracking goals in a 2 - 1 win for the lads.

My man of the match was the right back Liam Marrs. Garna be a good full back.
I liked the look of Mitchell and Laidler anarl

Kept the ball really well and could have had a few more. Winning one nil at half time we scored the second shortly after the break, but then one or two players went a bit static and allowed smoggies to pull a goal back.

Don't know all the lads names, but generally we have a few gooduns amongst them

Mitchell (Adam) - local lad from Teesdale. Was at Smogs academy until 9-10 then joined Byers Green Juniors (with my son). Signed up for the lads at 14-15. His dad really rates Laing asa future star!

Didn't know all the names, I don't think it was him. Connor Oliver played right side of centreback.

Forgot to say that I spent the first half talking to the Arsenal scout who is a Newcastle supporter but scouts for the Arsenal.

He believes our AOL is the best facilities he has seen anywhere, and that we are now getting a reputation for starting to bring young lads through.

He also expects that in 2 years we shall see more lads breaking into the first team squad.

New all about Knott, Laing, Marrs and he said Jack Colback is well sought after and that Keano wouldn't let him gan out on loan while he was manager here, but as soon as he got another club, his first phonecall was to us for Colback

Thanks, Egan missed the previous Youths game through injury so perhaps he is still injured.
