You must have man, the system automatically subscribes you to threads you've posted in (or maybe just read). See Quick Links -> Subscribed Threads.

I use subscribed threads a lot to see what has happened on threads ive been involved with, so regularly unsubscribe if a thread gets shit.

No, click user CP. It shows you all threads you have posted on that have new messages. You don't get email alerts at all.
