    Default Richardson

so if Bardsley back how do we play Richardson (not on the bench because he's one of two players we have with real pace). keep him at left back and let him grow into the position or move him forward.

I think he should stay at left back.

his performances have improved at left back and he offers width when we play with a right footer on the left wing.

Im not sure John O'Shea deserves a place in the team atm- hes clearly a great player, at least he was with Man U, but he doesn't look arsed his passing is woeful and I miss Hutton (and even Onuoha) charging down the wing

another thing I dont understand is- richardson was given the number 3 shirt and signed a new contract under the knowledge that Bruce saw him as a left back. I understand that Bruce was fighting to keep Gyan so gave him his preferred number (3) but why give richardson 11 a traditional left winger's and Bent's old number.
does it mean bruce see's him in a more advanced role now (and is only there because Bardsley is banned) or is it because its just a number and it doesnt matter/Bruce has no idea what he's doing anymore

I thought Richardson played well at left back at arsenal. Beaten by rvp for that shot off the post , but otherwise defended well and led to walcott being switched round a time or two, coping with his pace particularly well. It must be tempting for Bruce to move him further forward though and balance midfield up.

He's just had his best game at Left Back for Sunderland, why change it?

He's not a left back, and I think the last time we had a proper one was a good 3 and a half years ago.

Who was that? The last proper, quality left back we had was Mickey Gray and that was 8 and a half years ago.

Should stay at left back. Bring Bardsley back in at right back, and move O'Shea to the middle with Brown.

A quality LB should be Martin O'Neill's first target in January when Uncle Ellis hands him a 50 million pound warchest
