Any decent pubs & restaurants?

There's the catch.
There is the Jolly Sailor, The Grey Horse and The Club. I've never had any bother in them but when I lived there (albeit briefly) there was sometimes trouble on a night.
There's a chippy which closes early, and a decorative cake shop

apart from that I don't think there's much else.
The good news is that you are only a ten minute walk from the scraneries of Seaburn and a taxi ride from the pubs of Roker / Fulwell etc
Apart from that I found it a pleasant place to live.
