Surely it could easily just drop into a different country or continent even? He makes it sound like it'll land back pretty much where he let it go.

I did find that bit odd, yes. Where is he based?

I can only assume he can work out where it might land from reports on the wind.

That said where can you get wind reports from that altitude!?
