Are insurance companies stupid?

Just got our renewal through, £800!! up from about £600.

A quick visit to confused.com gets us the same deal for £500.

Stupid? Probably not...they'll make a fortune each year by hiking the prices of people who can't be arsed/forget to change their insurance company.

thing is a lot of people are stupid and let it tick over. just had the same happen to me, quick search on compare your bellend.com gets me a quote £200 cheaper with the same company

Got mine down from 658 to 267, used axa.

just did mine today, forgot it ran out on Sunday

Admiral quoted me £1200, esure was £700

Told admiral this and they said we'll knock off £80, they said 'how does that sound'

if the £500 deal is with the same company who originally quoted you £800, i wouldn't give them the business on principal. there'll be others around the £500 mark, give them the business instead

Had exactly the same with mine this week. Automatic renewal came through

Same cover was over £100 cheaper online
Phoned the insurance and they matched the cheaper quote

Really pisses me off when I have to go digging online and phoning the company up, why can't the fuckers just give me their best quote? Those that don't bother must be losing a fucking fortune each year
