Saw it last night... hmm.... not quite the film I was hoping for to be honest. I left feeling a bit let down thinking the film hadn't really finished. (Ill try not to ruin it by telling you the end like I did with Super 8)
Paid the extra to sit in one of those Gallery seats which are rather nice.. the free food doesn't really justify the extra cost but it was nice to be able to sit and drink a pint or two whilst watching the film..

Cowboys and Aliens tonight, I suspect it wil be slightly more entertaining

I imagine it will be left at a stupid point which doesn't have a follow up made going forward.

I actually preferred the other film to be honest. No doubt they will make a sequel to this which in the fuller context creates a better overall film.

Its not so much being left at a stuopid point (like the last apes film) more like I felt short changed in what the film delivered (or didn't) in nearly 2 hours

    Is Roddy McDowall in it?
    It'll be shit without him!

I thought it took far too long to kick in, and when it did kick in it only lasted another 30 minutes or so. The ending was quite poor as well, could see it coming a mile off. CGI was quite impressive though.

I won't be watching it again but it's not the worst I've seen.

I thought the concept was excellent especially in explaining how the chimps et al become much more than just chimps. Rather than the fact that 2000 million years of evolution has them walking and talking (sort of similar to the evolution of man theories and such)

Thing is, as I said before, it just left me wanting. Id rather the film explained a bit more as to the demise of the human race, rather than just alluding to the possibility of it in passing. (unless this is the basis of the next film, but that would probably end up being Outbreak with talking monkeys)
