Friad not Niall. Waste of time. 18 months down the drain for something that was never going to happen.

I would say the one positive that comes out of it is that it has put the spotlight on the world governing body.

Quinn can hold his head up high. Didn't the Fifa members say they were well impressed with the North East efforts when visiting. Its a shame it didnt pay off but i think he can be proud of the effort we went through

Quinn did a perfect job on selling Sunderland to the Drumaville Consortium and then Ellis Short. He did another great job with the World Cup bid but, as we suspected, no one was ever buying it.

While ever there are people like Beckham, Prince Whoever, Brooking, and their like, being involved we'll get nowehere. Wearing nice suits and nice smiles cuts no ice with the pack of grasping vultures at FIFA.

People like Quinn, who have the iron fist in the velvet glove would have made a difference but I'm glad we have him.

England looked like a bunch of frightened schoolboys.
