Red face Its only the start of the season!

i read these threads religiously every day to see any new reports or players we are linked with and lately ive noticed so many threads about how we are gonna struggle this season and how bad we are etc etc.
although granted, statistically, we have won 4 games in 17 is shocking! but lets face it. we are a team still gelling and i can see us after this 2 week break coming up, we can be a stronger team once everyone is familiar with their role and they find confidence in team-mates.
i dont go to many games, but have season ticket and watched games through streams etc, but its quite obvious they have the confidence keeping the ball in midfield and not goig forward, its just when they hit the opponents 18yards, we seem to crumble and run out of ideas.
this is got to be due to players being put out of position or the fact they have no confidence in each other as they havent played with this team.

but i do think over time we will find our feet and the break coming up will do us the world of good!

we just need to utilise our key players more (Sess, Larsson, Gyan) and build around them.

also think the fact we were Ko'd from the carling cup will be seen as a blessing in disguise later on in the season as ive always noticed, teams that do well in this comp tend to fall back in the league.... Pompey, Birmingham, Ipswich, blackburn.
witht he backlog of games they endure getting to the quarters, semis, final. they rack up injuries, poor form and ultimately lose points. so i think this could be a blessing we are out.

    That old chestnut

Admittedly, I don't subscribe to all the doom-mongers on here - i'm farily optimistic that we'll do alright.

My disappointment at getting knocked out so early in the cup is more about Bruce's attitude to it. With 2 inexperienced strikers and a promising batch of youth players (Laing, Knott et al) it should've been seen as a perfect opportunity to blood them and aid their development. I'm backing Bruce, but even I can't defend his team selection for the Brighton game.
