IPhone 4 or 3GS

Which is best, some might remember i dropped my 3gs down the swanny, anyway my house insurance are paying out and as Apple dont sell 3gs 16gb no more the insurance are sending me £510 for the iphone 4 16gb.

My problem is i have heard a lot of bad things about the iphone 4 so am contemplating buying a 3gs from ebay and obviously having a couple hundred left over.

So which is best?

Never had the 3g so cannot comment. But love me iphone and don't think i'll ever go back to any other phone.

I have heard the 5 is coming this year , maybe use a temporary phone until then and get the new one?

Had both and the iPhone 4 is significantly better than the 3GS. Much faster, way better screen and significantly better build quality. The battery lasts about twice as long too.

The signal issue is something that people who've never had an iPhone 4 bang on about. I don't know anyone who actually has an iPhone 4 who has noticed the problem.

well i'm thinking iphone 4 then once my contract runs out in january i can upgrade to iphone 5

Aye.

The iPhone 5 is just a rumour at the moment, might come out in 2 months, might not come out for another 18 months. There's talk of the next iPhone being a budget phone, as opposed to a new high end version.

The iPhone 4 is great, and while it doesn't do anything radically different to the 3GS, it does everything better. Well worth the extra imo, especially since it's insurance money.
