I hate financial fair play

The one time we have a rich billionaire owner and these bullshit rules come in so the elite will stay elite. A good scouting system has never been more important. But I fear we will have to sell Sess to strengthen other areas of the team or we will not move forward.

Aye, or people get a leg up through what might be considered 'financial doping'. If enforced properly it should reward investment in youth and intelligent trading in the market.

However an unfortunate knock-on is likely to be that football clubs expand away from just football to tap new streams of revenue, making top-flight footy an even more grotesque sight than it currently is.

They can invest, but just in aspects of the club that will reap long rather than short term success. There have to be some mechanisms in place for discouraging shit-or-bust thinking.
