Imelda does a cracking version of 'Lilac Wine' on the new Jeff Back album, 'Emotion & Commotion'. Probably my favourite track in terms of Beck's playing too. Following his endorsement of her on Jools and their joint performance at the Grammys, I wonder whether the 'plus Support' on Beck's October UK tour might be Imelda/HBC. From Beck's Blog:

Nothing north of Sheffield on the tour list so far though, surprised the Sage haven't got him. I'd really like to see him somewhere though, the new band are getting great reviews.
Strange mixture of an album, this one, uses a big orchestra on several tracks and includes covers of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', 'Nessun Dorma' and 'Corpus Christi Carol' (all instrumentals). Also a great version of 'I Put A Spell On You' with Joss Stone singing her heart out. As ever, Beck plays some beautiful stuff but all in all I think I'd rather listen to something a bit rawer, with his guitar more to the fore, the strings get a bit overwhelming at times.
