Thanks. I'm more after what a tablet can and can't do, rather than which one to get, so cheers Boris.

That looks really nice! Tempted, but the write up said something about very little memory? Not sure memory is an issue though .(), better price than the samsung too.

To sum up, if you have wireless broadband at home/ office then don't get a 3G tablet as it will cost a fair bit more in the long run.

    Hope this helps.
    Well i hope he did!
The 7" tablet is for slimness and convenience, hopefully going travelling (backpack style) so for the odd bus journey, this small tablet looks good. But I don't want to buy something that has no use, and as I have never used a smart phone or used apps before I'm just trying to learn what a tablet can be used for. ( Don't have a data allowance on my phone - I only use it for the odd phone call and texting.) Don't want to be saddled with anykind of bill abroad, so would just use internet cafés etc

for the kids and then the missus decided she wanted an ipad3

Th tablets are great for thhe kids, wireless connection for facebook etc and as fast as I'd hoped for

The ipad id up another level though. Better graphics, faster and justseems better overall. It's down to how much youre willing to pay I suppose

I think that would scare her opinion of tablets for life.

If you're going to get one, at least get a decent one. The 7" Nexus looks like it's going to be the best value for month if not a little small.
£159 seems good. I saw the Archos one for £106 and fell in love with the samsung at £199. As it is quite likely going to get bashed up I'll probably go cheap and cheerful, but the nexus is tempting. 7" will be fine!

If you're planning to use it for online banking / shopping etc you might want to think about buying a decent tablet security package - I think most of the big antivirus companies do them, and I've just spent a couple of weeks editing texts to promote Kaspersky Lab's tablet and smartphone security packages.
Thanks - I'll have a netbook with me with antivirus on, the tablet was to be for entertainment and backup shoud the netbook be nicked/break etc.

Size is important, so 7" wins hands down this time round.

    Thank you everybody!
