Shame Algeria didn't qualify, could have got to see Ziani play now we are being linked with him.

Remember him being distinctly average in a below average Algeria team at the World Cup. Haven't such much of him at club level like.

Think he played against us in the World Cup, can't say I remember him standing out but that Algeria side were really defensive iirc.

Subbed in two of their three group games. They were pretty toothless going forward and used all round negative tactics from what I can just about remember. I'd be surprised if we signed anybody at all in this window mind.

He would have shone in that famous shirt and shimmered majestically in the glow of that hallowed turf and you fucking well know it.

I think we will sign a couple of players actually, no-one expensive or for the long term though. I think Ziani would be a good signing for what it's worth, purely because we need someone who can cover for injuries or suspension to Sessegnon or McClean. Maybe that could be Muslimovic though but I do think there is something in the Ziani talk. For example, Chamakh is at the ACoN and he was asked about us and Ziani in an interview.

Yes, I think. It would be good for him. Now, he must respect his choice. For me, the Premier League, is the best Championship in the world. If he had to find an agreement with Sunderland, it would be really very interesting.

Where's that from like and what the bleeding hell does Chamakh have to do with us or Ziani or Algeria?

I think they were just asking him about random African players who could make it in the PL, maybe to make him feel bad about him not making it here.
