    This is the real issue. Since 1990 the average football-ticket price has risen by 600 per cent, while, according to the Office for National Statistics, consumer prices in general rose around 80 per cent for the same period.

    This is why currently only 9% of fans at Premier League games are under 24. A whole generation is being priced out of watching football, here lies the real issue Mr Quinn.

    and as i have said before the generation next in line never come out of their bedrooms playing x box etc so have no affinity with the real game

    Interesting stat that like. Makes sense. When I started going to RP in late 70's I would estimate 30% under 25.
