Same applies to thisd thread to that of the NYSD, anyone here play in it? If so, where. AND who do you think will win it this year now that Kimmer have gone. Has your club brought anyone in/let anyone go and who's your pro?!

Also, dissapointing that Etherley haven't got a 2nd Team but I suppose when you can't get a side/are getting battered every week it gets a bit sickening.

Played for both Mainsforth and Shildon before retiring 7 year ago. Still contributing to the league by umpiring in the A division for the last 6 years and thoroughly enjoying it.
Fancy Esh to have a good chance this year.

Do many of the clubs have junior set ups? Without them it must be hard to stop the number of teams you can put out reducing over time.

Well it's been 6 years since I played Under 18 cricket and I don't follow it very closely but I know Brandon have teams at Under 11, 13, 15 and 18 level, aswell as a 3rd Team that play on Sunday's and consists mainly of youngsters to give them a taste of 45 over cricket.

I would imagine most clubs have atleast Under 13, 15 and 18's too. Etherley being one of the clubs I guess will have these sides but I couldn't tell you for definite.

Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe have their junior sides in the County League's junior competitions too.

Any results from Day 1 of the season??

I was at Esh Winning. They posted 191-9 in their 45 overs. Lawlor hit 70 odd, wickets were Turner 3, Ball 2, Robinson 2, Parnaby 2.

Brandon beat them by 9 wickets scoring 192-1 with 5 overs to spare. After losing Ball with the score on 28, Turner smashed an unbeaten 114 and 17 year old Aussie Bosisto scored a 50. A result that no doubt will send shockwaves through the league. Much fancied Esh beaten.
