Default The iconic number 9 shirt

Who makes this bollocks up? Nobody outside the NE gives a flying fuck about their so called world famous number 9 shirt. Do they really believe this crap? It's embarrassing for them. I am sure it's been discussed here earlier. If so, apologies, I am just catching up.

What a load of steaming horse poop. It's typical of them. This little nugget typifies why I hate them so much.

It's not as embarrassing as the fact we now have three or four threads discussing it.

I am sorry but it is worth discussing. What do you expect?

Who do they think they are? I would be the first to admit they have the bragging rights to a certain extent, given some of their recent success throughout the nineties etc. and they have had a couple of high profile strikers during that period but to elevate their number 9 shirt to a world icon is nothing short of absurd.

And the fact that it comes from within the club makes it even worse.

Until Shearer left I had never known them to go on about the number 9 shirt.

They've seen other clubs harp on about numbers on the continent and jumped on the bandwagon. Hopefully it adds to the pressure on Cisse's shoulders. The shirt could become a poisoned chalice.

I heard Efan Ekoku on TV discussiong this, and he said African players revere the #10 shirt much more than the #9, so maybe not.

Look the fact is, even if it is a load of bollox. What the fuck you all botherd about? Even as you say it all started with shearer, then WHY is this news to you now?
The simple truth is a club that is not yours has a number that is special to THEM (us) what the fuck is all the fuss about. If you are talking about it being embarrassing, so what, i'm personally not embarrassed. All clubs have their things.

I know you all jump around screaming at the TV cameras "aye, ad luv a 2-1 win like, ya kna as itz an famous score fo us like" come derby day. Where deos this come from? when i see that, i roll my eyes and think "aye whatever" but i certainly don't fuss over it. Our number 9 gets mentioned off "your bastian of all truth" silly cun t Taylor and then there are three threads on here, with plenty of people chomping at the bit, to write "its embarrassing man, divnt theze divvies na the wurld is laffen at them"

To be honest i'm flattered you feel the love for our club otherwise why would you spend so much time thinking about us, and worrying about us?

(in responce to the replies of aye we're obsessed, you're a fucking MAG on a sunderland message board)
i've already said in another thread (another one about our number 9 shirt) why i'm here, so wont be again..
