What's worse is the design is clearly a rip-off of the iPad

That CPU/chipset will be good enough for most things, and certainly for Honeycomb. Android tends to get faster on successive releases, so it shouldnt be a problem on devices that shipped with an older version.

But I don't think the price is particularly good. Should be looking at no more than 100 notes for something like that.
