14 game blip aside, its been a decent season. Would have been nice to win a few more on our travels though but. Bruce will have that sorted next season (fingers crossed).

Been a decent season, but luckily we wern't dragged further down into the scrap because the teams below us are the shittest I've seen for years.

None of them are as bad as us in our 15 pt season and derby in their 11 pt. I also suspect Pompey might have escaped were it not for the 9pt deduction. That seemed to knock the stuffing out of them.
I reckon last season was worse for quality than this.

Last time we even achieved 40 points in the top flight was 01/02 .

Getting there this season would definitely be an improvement but it should be considered achievement of the minimum acceptable standard rather than success.

It's been obvious for months that there was a bigger group of shite in the league this year though.

Wolves, Burnley, Hull, West Ham, Pompey, Wigan and Bolton are all pretty dreadful.

Edit: Stoke are also dreadful but they are good at it.

We got 39 in the first season up, Two managers* got sacked for last season in which we got only 4 less points than 40. I think it's safe to say it was the minimum target.

*One manager and someone plucked at random from the training ground to save money.

Keane did a runner, nobody sacked him. Sbragia had a nice friendly press conference where he said he want interested. Nobody was sacked.
