    Default Getting subtitles for movies

A while back I looked for sources for subtitles for the movies I'd ripped as subtitle-less MKVs, and couldn't find any. Those I found, the subtitles didn't fit the movie.

Anyone know any good sources now?

I just want to download them and embed them in the MKVs I've already got, to avoid having to rip all over again.

    Cheers for any suggestions.

Whenever I've downloaded foreign films like 'La Haine', there's been a separate file that gets chucked in the folder that relates to the subtitles and when the whole thing's converted to a format suitable to go on my phone, it's miraculously there.
    Hope this helps.

Always rip the subtitles as well in future mate would be the only advice really as I don't know of any sites that do a dedicated subtitles section. Mini is on about dowloaded films where you get an .srt file separately as well as far as I can make out. You just stick them in the same folder as the film usually, but of course that's no good for you here

When you think about it, a dedicated subs section on a site wouldn't be that good really, as the timing of the subs would generally only be any good for the release that they are associated with.

There can't be that many variants of a commercial DVD though, can there?

They're not downloaded, they're ones I bought but ripped before I had an exotic foreign missus who likes English subtitles.

I'm not sure about this mate but when you think about how precise subs have to be, framerate, compression, variances in software used for ripping and producing the subs etc etc would all play a part. Don't think it comes down to just the minutes/seconds in the film.

I could be way off the mark here though like
