The main reason England failed.
They are given vast amounts of money and hero worshipped by their club supporters.
They cheat on their partners with their friends partners, they get involved in pub fights and involved in other sexual activities 'roastings' prostitutes etc, as well as the obligitory alcohol sessions. They can afford the best lawyers to get them off assaults and speeding offences when they have been obviously guilty. They feel untouchable.
Now as young, well paid men, it would be very hard to resist. I for one would have struggled.
Now look at the Germans. A young team, still very well paid. I'm sure any scandal would have been jumped upon by our national press on the build-up to the game. Zilch, nothing.
They obviously appreciate how lucky they are to be in that position and work on their technique and weaknesses. How many of our golden generation can even kick with both feet?
We even had one player who turned down a move due to his WAG girlfriend wanting to stay in London for the shopping. Hardly a reason to stop progressing your career.
We just dont have the mental backbone of other nations. Riches undeservedly come to them too easily for little return when it counts. No doubt we will get their pathetic excuses on their return before the rush to get into print their World Cup diaries and earn even more money.
Who is to blame....Sky, their upbringing, the press, fame, the fans? I would probably say a combination of them all.
The one consolation is that I believe that England fans are beginning to realise this and although disappointed could see we were obviously inferior to the Germans.
What is the answer....I honestly couldnt tell you as I cannot see it changing.

Re: The main reason England failed.
It's hard to say because we are obviously not exposed to Germany's side. I'm sure the press are just as bad, players can be as tempramental and have their faults etc. What I would say is that Germany's encouragement of youth is very commendable. They seem to be able to handle the pressure of stepping up and obviously haven't given in to the temptations that being a young pro offers.

Thats certainly part of it. The premier league clubs fawn over these thick as pig shit players and the players think they are bigger than the team.
The Terry incident was a classic. He thoght he was the man, thought that his team mates would support him but they were all shown up for the bottlers that they are.
Also the vast majority havent a clue how to behave. They have no discipline either on or off the field as the petulant Rooney shows.
Who exactly is telling these player sthat they are good?

You never heard of the likes of Klinsmann, Ballack being caught out when they they played over here. Its all about a strong mental attitude and upbringing.
Terry is the perfect example. He is not intelligent enough to understand how his own behaviour has affected the squad. On being knocked out he states he cannot understand it. He obviously doesnt think he is in any way responsible. Judging by his parents recent behaviour it could be expected.

Good post. I dont think he is intelligent enough to be an international footballer, however we seem to breed thick as pig shit players at PL clubs.
Fuckin hell we even have to put on educational courses for them so that when they dont make it the fuckers can read and write.
Shocking really.

No some of them are good enough its the baggage that is carried that prevents them reaching their peak.
Mourihno, who I rate as probably the best coach in the world, rates Lampard, Cole, Gerrard and Terry as world class, as he has used them or tried to sign them when he has been at different clubs.
If you add Rooney you have five players of world class ability, who could probably get into most top teams, so why are they not producing it when required?
