I'd argue that we'd have lost every single one of the games that we lost since he left, whether he was in the team or not. For example, we failed to beat Notts County, Newcastle and Blackpool close to his exit, there's nothing to suggest we wouldn't have lost to the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool with him in the team either.
I put it down to a difficult run of fixtures more than anything. However, I feel we have one of the easiest run-in's in the Premier League and I can see us picking up another 10 points at least. Now's not the time to panic.
Oh and in case people want to point out that we could have kept him, no we couldn't. If people feel it necessary to blame someone for what they think is our current ''predicament'' then look no further than Darren Bent himself and remind him of it next season when we play Villa.
