    Default Post-leg break exercise.

Broke my leg 9 weeks ago. It's only just about recovered. I have a final appointment to see if it's fully healed this coming tuesday but I'm allowed to walk on it now. It's about half the girth of my other leg now though, so what am I supposed to do to make them equal again? Obviously nothing massively strenuous to begin with. My leg was still broken when it was last x-rayed two weeks ago.

Swimming seems an obvious thing but what else?

Ask the physio at the hospital, I'm not sure anyone is qualified to answer that on here, I may be wrong though. Would have thought anything no impact though such as swimming as you mention.

Yeah, I'd go with the physio's advice on this one. Occlusion training is fantastic, but I haven't heard of anybody locally being qualified or having the equipment to actually carry it out, so you'd have to do it yourself and gauge the occlusion yourself.

About 13 years ago I had a broken leg from playing football. When in the cast I went to the Grosvenor casino and was sitting down with a pint and a bloke came over and asked how I'd done it. Looked up and it was Gazza. He sat and talked to me for about half an hour about alsorts of stuff but mainly football. Anyway I asked him what was best recovery for my leg and his reply was 'swim, swim swim swim. All you need to do is swim as much as possible and it will heal fully and quickly. That's what I done and it has so my advice would be to swim as much as you can, good luck...

Rugby accident. Basically I tackled someone much heavier than me by lifting him. During the process I had gotten my foot into a really awkward position, with the top of it facing the turf... both of our weights ended up positioned directly over the awkwardly placed foot and my leg snapped.
